Melbourne’s river and coast suburbs at the heart of a master planned building boom

From the industrial heritage of Yarraville to coastal Point Cook and the river-and-lake communities of Werribee, Melbourne’s western corridor is experiencing significant growth.

The stretch takes in established inner-west neighbourhoods in Maribyrnong and Hobsons Bay before opening into Wyndham, one of Australia’s fastest-growing municipalities, as new-home development gathers pace along the way.

For buyers, that breadth and diversity is part of the appeal. Opportunity ranges from low-maintenance townhomes amid established shops, transport and parkland to larger land estates built around waterways, schools and new town centres.

Buyer interest is rising. PropTrack data shows enquiries per listing across the Melbourne West region are up 8% since the May budget and 15.9% from two years ago, when interest rates were at the same level as they are now.
